Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support & Welfare:
    • Serve as the main liaison for all student queries, concerns, and grievances, providing timely and empathetic support.
    • Offer guidance on academic matters, university policies, and personal development.
    • Develop and implement welfare programs to address student needs, including counseling referrals, health, and well-being initiatives.
    • Act as a student advocate within the college and university administration.
  • Student Activities & Organizations:
    • Oversee and facilitate the establishment, registration, and activities of student societies, clubs, and professional organizations (e.g., dental associations, sports clubs, literary societies).
    • Approve and supervise student-led events, ensuring compliance with college policies and safety regulations.
    • Promote student participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities that enhance their holistic development.
    • Manage budgets allocated for student activities and ensure transparent financial practices.
  • Orientation & Transition Programs:
    • Plan, organize, and execute comprehensive orientation programs for new students to facilitate their integration into the college environment.
    • Develop initiatives to support student transition, retention, and success throughout their dental education journey.
  • Policy Implementation & Compliance:
    • Ensure student adherence to the university and college's code of conduct, disciplinary policies, and academic regulations.
    • Assist in interpreting and communicating policies related to student life, attendance, and examinations.
    • Address disciplinary issues as per established procedures, maintaining confidentiality and fairness.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Maintain effective communication channels with students, faculty, administration, and parents/guardians regarding student affairs matters.
    • Collaborate closely with the Dean's office, examination department, academic departments, and other university student services to ensure integrated support.
    • Prepare regular reports on student activities, welfare initiatives, and disciplinary matters for management.
