The position also includes assisting in the development and implementation of automated systems to detect and mitigate abusive or fraudulent activities. Investigating and preventing abusive activities such as intrusion attempts, DDoS attacks, malware distribution, and phishing originating from the platform is critical. Managing a queue system with daily targets for customer contacts, ensuring quality resolutions, and overseeing end-to-end operational processes including escalations by providing effective business solutions are expected. Guiding customers to ensure compliance with all applicable DigitalOcean policies, collaborating with Security and Infrastructure teams to strengthen account, platform, and service security, and utilizing internal tools to drive automation efforts are important responsibilities. The role requires applying legal concepts related to fair use, copyright, trademark, defamation, and plagiarism, as well as assisting in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or possess equivalent experience. A background of 2 to 4+ years in security operations and incident response roles is necessary. Experience in policy enforcement, user trust, risk, fraud or product abuse investigation, network security, security operations, or incident response is highly valued. A strong understanding of hardware, software, networking, distributed computing, virtualization, high-performance storage systems, databases, and cloud computing is essential. Proficiency in TCP/IP concepts, application protocols, database structures, and Unix/Linux environments is required. Excellent communication skills, along with strong prioritization and multitasking abilities, are important. A positive attitude and a commitment to keeping customers and the internet safe are expected.
