Sr Configuration/Release Engineer

Join ServiceNow as a Build and Release Engineer based in Hyderabad, where you will play a vital role in shaping the next-generation build and release platform that supports a rapidly expanding development organization. This position focuses on enhancing and automating infrastructure, software, and processes to streamline enterprise software development, quality engineering, and production releases. You will engage with modern technologies in a flexible work environment, contributing to scaling and improving the platform while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and enhance the Build and Release platform to support enterprise-scale software development. Manage and maintain source code management and build tools such as Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, and Nexus. Provision, monitor, and manage virtual servers on AWS to ensure platform scalability and reliability. Deploy Jenkins and other application servers using Kubernetes within AWS environments. Automate infrastructure provisioning using Chef. Lead the adoption and integration of tools to improve development workflows. Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis, documenting solutions to maintain system health. Support and optimize build pipelines, manage branching strategies, and oversee code repositories. Develop productivity tools and plugins to boost developer efficiency. Automate repetitive tasks and processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications
3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in automation, build and deployment processes, and configuration management. Strong Linux and networking skills with proficiency in one or more scripting languages. Experience with source code management, branching strategies, and automated build and release systems. A demonstrated passion for automation, continuous improvement, and fostering a DevOps culture. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Awareness of security and compliance considerations in software development and operations. Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and a strong customer service orientation. Experience or critical thinking related to integrating AI into workflows, decision-making, or problem-solving, including the use of AI-powered tools and automation.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Skills in tuning and scaling Linux systems. Experience managing, debugging, and improving build systems. Familiarity with agile methodologies.
