We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced tax and accounting professional to oversee monthly and annual tax calculations, filings, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate tax records, ensuring compliance with current tax laws, and supporting the organization’s financial operations. This full-time role involves hands-on management of tax returns, general ledger maintenance, and collaboration with auditors and consultants to uphold regulatory standards and contribute to the company’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate and file monthly and annual income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax returns in compliance with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Sindh Revenue Board (SRB), and other relevant authorities.
- Maintain and update comprehensive tax records, ensuring adherence to the latest tax regulations and laws.
- Manage Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) filings and oversee the issuance and management of tax certificates.
- Efficiently handle correspondence, notices, and audits from tax authorities such as the FBR.
- Maintain the general ledger, vouchers, and daily transaction records with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist in monthly financial closing processes, including bank reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and accounting practices to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate closely with procurement and payroll departments to ensure proper tax deductions are applied.
- Prepare financial summaries and reports for management as requested.
- Manage input tax, output tax, sales tax, purchase tax, and 236G-related tax matters effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in tax calculation, filing, and compliance, particularly with income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax.
- Strong knowledge of regulations and procedures of FBR, SRB, and other relevant tax authorities.
- Proficiency in maintaining the general ledger and handling daily financial transactions.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and supporting monthly closing activities.
- Familiarity with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Ability to manage tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with auditors, consultants, and internal departments.
