Culinary R&D Assistant

Cursteez Donuts is seeking a Research and Development Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating innovative menu items and enhancing our culinary offerings. This position requires a deep understanding of culinary arts, menu development, and food sensory analysis. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and possess strong skills in data analysis and recipe development. You will work closely with chefs and other staff to experiment with flavors, textures, and presentations to elevate our brand and satisfy customer tastes. This role does not include managing a team but requires collaboration and effective communication with various stakeholders in the kitchen and broader organization.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough research on culinary trends to inform menu development and innovation.
Assist chefs in developing new recipes that align with our brand vision and customer preferences.
Analyze data related to menu performance, customer feedback, and food costs to optimize offerings.
Experiment with ingredients and cooking techniques to create unique flavor profiles and dishes.
Perform food sensory analysis to evaluate the taste, texture, and appearance of new dishes.
Collaborate with the culinary team to refine existing recipes and enhance seasonal menus.
Document all recipe formulations, adjustments, and results for future reference and consistency.
Staying updated on food safety regulations and best practices during all stages of development.
Facilitate tastings and present findings to the team for constructive feedback and improvement.
Utilize MS Excel to track data, analyze trends, and support informed decision-making within the kitchen.
