Aga Khan University, established in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private international university, is committed to providing education, research, and healthcare services that meet international standards and address the needs of Pakistan and the surrounding region. The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is a prominent unit recognized nationally and internationally for its contributions to public health and primary healthcare system strengthening. The department includes five key sections: Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Health Policy & Management, Population & Reproductive Health, Environmental Health & Climate Change, and Non-Communicable Diseases & Mental Health. This position is contractual and funded through grants.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct participant screening and recruitment for various research studies, ensuring eligibility criteria are met.
- Administer structured surveys and questionnaires with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collect, record, and verify quantitative and qualitative data while maintaining data integrity.
- Transcribe qualitative interviews, strictly maintaining participant confidentiality and data security.
- Organize and maintain study materials, field notes, and documentation systematically for easy retrieval.
- Coordinate with study participants to schedule interviews and manage appointments efficiently.
- Follow research protocols and ethical guidelines rigorously throughout all data collection processes.
Required Qualifications
- Intermediate education from a recognized board.
- At least one year of experience in community-based data collection or related fieldwork.
- Strong understanding of field research protocols, including participant consent procedures and ethical standards.
- Proficiency in digital data entry tools; experience with REDCap is highly desirable.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse community members.
- Fluency in Sindhi is essential for this role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and local languages such as Urdu and Sindhi.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel regularly to field sites and adapt to dynamic project needs.
