Job Purpose:

The GBV Project Officer will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities aimed at preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV) and harmful practices. The role includes strengthening institutional capacities, supporting community-based protection and referral mechanisms, and promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment through a multi-sectoral and participatory approach in the target districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The incumbent will also contribute to evidence generation, coordination with key stakeholders, and the development of context-specific strategies to ensure a sustainable and impactful response to GBV.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement project activities as outlined in the project documents and organizational guidelines.
  • Ensure timely execution and delivery of GBV-related interventions in the target districts.
  • Responsible to organize events in universities, colleges, business entities, and prominent community and district-level (AWAZ II- districts) for promotion GBV helpline.
  • Ensure to organize regular meetings with helpline staff, SWD and stakeholders
  • Responsible to develop analytical quarterly and annual reports on BOLO helpline cases in line with SOPs. 
  • Ensure to organize steering committee meetings on the integration of the BOLO helpline and police helpline.
  • Oversee case management for GBV survivors, ensuring the timely and accurate documentation of cases while maintaining confidential and organized records in compliance with best practices and organizational protocols.
  • Ensure effective coordination with helpline staff of government departments, NGOs, community leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure to initiate and organize the capacities building trainings for helpline staff and institutional actors and community-based mechanisms to prevent and respond to GBV.
  • Monitor the implementation of project activities and assess progress toward intended outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to donor reports and internal documentation.
  • Provide technical support for advocacy initiatives and guidance to local staff.
  • Advocate for gender-sensitive policies and improved GBV service delivery at local and provincial levels.
  • Promote women’s and girls’ empowerment through inclusive, participatory approaches.
  • Ensure project activities are aligned with principles of gender equality, human rights, and cultural sensitivity.

Person Specification: It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the organizational values & principles, vision and mission as well as commitment to its PSEAH (preventing sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. The organization has a zero-tolerance policy towards PSEAH and don’t support any action that promotes or encourages PSEAH.

Qualification: 

·       University degree in Gender Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Development Studies, or related field.

Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Master or 5 years of Experience with Bachelor in managing or coordinating GBV, gender equality, or protection-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of the socio-cultural and institutional context of GBV and harmful practices.
  •  Demonstrated experience in capacity-building, community mobilization, and rights-based approaches.
  •  Familiarity with UN, national and international GBV guidelines and referral systems.

 Language: 

  • Urdu, English and local languages
  •  Fluency in English is required

Computer: 

  • MS Office, Outlook, ERP systems familiarity
