We are looking for a highly skilled and results-driven SEO Strategist to join our growing digital marketing team, an e-commerce business specializing in skincare and sunscreen products. As an SEO Strategist, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and continuously optimizing our SEO strategy to drive organic traffic, improve search engine rankings, and ultimately increase conversions and sales.

You’ll collaborate with various teams, including content creators, developers, and the marketing department to ensure that SEO is integrated into all aspects of our digital presence. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the direction of SEO efforts and help us grow our online presence across the Netherlands and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement SEO Strategy:

    • Create and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy aimed at improving organic search rankings and driving targeted traffic to the website.

    • Perform in-depth keyword research to identify high-value opportunities for growth across multiple product categories.

    • Develop both on-page and off-page SEO strategies, focusing on high-impact content, link-building, and technical SEO improvements.

  2. Content Optimization & Strategy:

    • Work closely with the content team to optimize product pages, blog posts, landing pages, and other website content to ensure they are fully optimized for relevant keywords and user intent.

    • Create content strategies based on keyword research, user behavior, and competitor analysis.

    • Optimize content for featured snippets, rich results, and other special search results.

  3. Technical SEO:

    • Collaborate with developers to ensure that the website is technically optimized, including fast loading times, mobile responsiveness, structured data, and proper indexing.

    • Perform regular audits to identify technical SEO issues (e.g., broken links, duplicate content, site speed, crawl errors) and develop strategies to address them.

  4. Link Building & Off-Page SEO:

    • Develop and execute an effective link-building strategy to acquire high-quality backlinks from reputable sites within the skincare, health, and beauty industries.

    • Monitor backlinks and analyze their impact on SEO performance, ensuring link profile diversity and quality.

  5. SEO Analytics & Reporting:

    • Utilize tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Moz to monitor and report on SEO performance, traffic growth, keyword rankings, and other KPIs.

    • Regularly review and adjust SEO strategy based on data, industry trends, and competitor activities to maximize results.

  6. Local SEO Strategy:

    • Optimize the site for local search within the Netherlands, including creating location-specific content, local business listings, and optimizing Google My Business profiles.

  7. Collaborate with Marketing & Product Teams:

    • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure SEO strategies are aligned with broader business goals.

    • Provide guidance on product launch strategies, e-commerce SEO tactics, and promotions to ensure optimal visibility in organic search.

  8. Stay Up-to-Date with SEO Trends:

    • Keep up-to-date with the latest search engine algorithms, SEO best practices, and industry trends to ensure the website remains competitive and follows current best practices.

    • Regularly attend webinars, conferences, or SEO forums to expand knowledge and keep up with evolving trends.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: 3+ years of experience in SEO, ideally with a focus on e-commerce and digital marketing.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of technical SEO (site structure, XML sitemaps, schema markup, page speed optimization, etc.) and the ability to work closely with developers.

  • Analytics Proficiency: Proficient in using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz) for reporting and analysis.

  • Keyword Research Skills: Expertise in keyword research tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, and SEMrush to identify valuable SEO opportunities.

  • Content Optimization: Experience optimizing content for both search engines and user experience, with a focus on conversion optimization.

  • Link Building: Proven ability to develop and execute link-building strategies to acquire high-quality, relevant backlinks.

  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot SEO issues, diagnose problems, and develop solutions to improve rankings and visibility.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with local SEO for regional or location-based searches.

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, or basic web development to assist with SEO implementation.

  • Previous experience in the health, beauty, or e-commerce industry is a plus.

  • Familiarity with A/B testing and other conversion rate optimization (CRO) practices.
