Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Oversee preparation and filing of all tax returns (corporate, sales, VAT, etc.).
- Ensure timely compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Review and manage tax provision calculations, ensuring accuracy in financial statements.
- Coordinate audits with tax authorities and resolve any issues that arise.
Tax Planning & Strategy:
- Advise the company on tax-efficient strategies, including mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Stay up-to-date on changing tax laws and regulations to ensure the company’s tax positions are optimized.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Manage the workload of the tax team to meet deadlines and ensure high-quality output.
Risk Management & Internal Controls:
- Assess potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure proper documentation for tax positions taken, in line with the company’s internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to align tax strategies with overall business goals.
- Act as a point of contact for tax-related issues across the organization.
External Relations:
- Work with external auditors, consultants, and tax advisors to manage tax-related matters.
- Represent the company during interactions with tax authorities.
