The Onsite Accounts Manager is responsible for managing the financial operations of the school, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. This role ensures that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner, in compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:

    • Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
    • Prepare and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with the school principal and other administrators.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly financial statements and budget variance reports.
  2. Accounting and Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all school transactions.
    • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
    • Manage the school's accounting software and ensure data integrity.
  3. Compliance and Auditing:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and school policies.
    • Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
    • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard school assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  4. Payroll and Benefits Administration:

    • Process payroll for all school employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other related programs.
  5. Financial Analysis and Reporting:

    • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the school principal and board of directors to support decision-making.
    • Prepare and present financial reports at school board meetings and other relevant forums.
    • Analyze financial trends and identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and staff to ensure smooth financial operations.
    • Communicate financial policies and procedures to school staff and provide training as needed.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all financial inquiries and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
