The European Technology Chamber, a registered NGO committed to advancing European technologies for the benefit of Europe and humanity, is expanding its team to better support its extensive network. As Europe’s leading technology network, we are looking for a dedicated HR Specialist (People Management) fluent in German to join our remote team. Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly to employee inquiries related to contracts, sick leave, vacation, and general HR policies. Maintain and update personnel files in compliance with German data protection regulations (DSGVO). Monitor employee attendance and time tracking to ensure accurate documentation of absences. Draft and send employment contracts, amendments, and confirmations in German. Ensure timely submission of social insurance and tax documentation as required by law. Prepare onboarding documents and organize welcome sessions for new employees. Manage probation periods (Probezeit) and coordinate feedback sessions with managers. Stay updated on legal changes and labor law developments affecting internal HR practices. Support monthly payroll preparation by collecting relevant data such as bonuses and sick days. Maintain current records of visa statuses and work permits, verifying document validity. Coordinate with the works council (Betriebsrat) on employee-related matters when applicable. Document and archive all HR activities in the local language to ensure audit readiness. Collaborate with departments to develop or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with company policies. Facilitate effective communication among departments and senior management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in recruitment and performance management. Proven expertise in performance management practices and SOP conceptualization. Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and applicant tracking systems. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. German language proficiency at C1 level or higher. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Reliable high-speed internet connection and necessary remote work equipment such as a laptop and headset.
