Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Design Consultant to join our team, serving as a vital link between customers, the Studio, and internal teams at Thales. This role involves preparing and verifying artwork, providing expert design and effect consultancy, and supporting sales efforts with Thales’ portfolio. The ideal candidate will manage communication across departments, ensure adherence to branding and production standards, and create innovative card designs from concept to final execution. This position demands a strong customer focus, technical expertise in design processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design Support & Consultancy Services:
- Present the Thales product portfolio to customers, offering design recommendations and advice on card designs and special effects.
- Collaborate with customers during artwork preparation, suggesting alternatives that align with Thales manufacturing capabilities, Studio requirements, and Scheme branding guidelines.
- Maintain regular communication with customers via email, teleconferences, and on-site visits as needed.
- Keep customers informed about updates in Thales requirements and Scheme regulations.
- Assist customers with file conversions and artwork amendments to meet production standards.
- Showcase Thales’ innovative plastics, effects, and product options to customers.
Design Studio Services:
- Review and verify customer artwork files to ensure compliance with Thales printing capabilities and Payment Scheme branding rules.
- Integrate artworks into standardized graphical templates, generate executable files, and manage customer expectations in coordination with the Studio.
New Design Services:
- Develop original card artwork based on customers’ Design Creative Briefs and branding guidelines.
- Create printing files from customer samples, adapting designs to meet Thales printing conditions and closely replicate sample cards.
Thales Teams Relationship:
- Respond promptly to Sales Team inquiries regarding artwork feasibility, Studio processes, and Scheme requirements.
- Provide design consultancy during sales meetings and conceptual design phases.
- Guide the Customer Service Team on artwork feasibility and Studio-related requests.
- Deliver executable files to Studio teams, clarify customer expectations, discuss alternatives, and facilitate communication among Sales, Customer Service, Studio, and Scheme teams.
- Collaborate with the Product Marketing Team to relay portfolio feedback, address customer requests, and support design creation for new products.
- Manage relationships with other Thales Business Process Services (BPS) teams involved in artwork design tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite.
- Solid understanding of Prepress processes and printing production workflows.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Deep knowledge of design principles and current trends.
- Creativity and innovative thinking with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Russian or French is advantageous.
- A strong portfolio showcasing diverse design work and creative projects.
- Customer and business-oriented mindset with a proactive approach.
- Willingness and ability to learn new techniques and tools independently.
- Highly organized, rigorous, and autonomous in managing responsibilities.
