Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Quality Control and Assembly Technician with a strong background in mechanical fabrication and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials, ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing process, assisting in assembly, and supporting installation activities. This role requires a hands-on approach, technical proficiency in 3D modeling software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams to maintain high standards of product quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials such as steel, components, and cables to verify compliance with established standards and specifications.
- Conduct batch-wise inspections of stainless steel bodies, including CNC-cut, bent, and coated parts, to identify any surface defects, sharp edges, misalignments, or poor finishing.
- Ensure that the final products meet all design, safety, and visual quality standards before approval.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate quality control records for every batch inspected, including filling out quality checklists and inspection forms.
- Assist or perform the assembly of final finished products, ensuring proper fitting of minor electronics and other components.
- Conduct product installations at client sites when required, maintaining installation checklists and client installation records.
- Perform minor fabrication adjustments using hand and power tools to correct any issues during assembly or installation.
- Utilize 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to review product designs and suggest improvements for usability, fit, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with the production team to implement design changes and enhance overall product quality and assembly efficiency.
- Maintain and update essential documentation including Bills of Materials (BOMs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and product specification sheets.
- Report any production non-conformities promptly, supported by photographic evidence and detailed logs, to ensure timely resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Technology or a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical.
- Practical experience in fabrication, fitting, or quality assurance roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of product assembly tools, techniques, and quality control processes.
- Basic proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, with the ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and tolerances.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong practical problem-solving skills to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
While not explicitly stated, candidates with additional hands-on experience in client-site installations or advanced skills in 3D design software will be highly valued. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic manufacturing setting, contributing directly to product quality and customer satisfaction.
