MIS / Network Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Network and Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls, while providing timely support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring system performance, maintaining network security, and supporting Management Information System (MIS) operations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with vendors and service providers to coordinate technical support and system installations.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues, troubleshooting problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Monitor system performance continuously, implementing measures to safeguard network security and protect sensitive data from potential threats.
- Assist with the operation and reporting of the Management Information System (MIS), ensuring accurate and timely data management.
- Conduct routine maintenance and perform necessary upgrades on IT systems to enhance functionality and security.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for technical support, equipment installations, and maintenance activities, ensuring seamless service delivery.

Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN network architectures and internet connectivity protocols.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.
- Experience working within Windows and Linux operating system environments.
- Familiarity with IP addressing schemes, network cabling standards, and basic server configuration tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues methodically and implement practical solutions.
- Strong communication skills to interact clearly and professionally with team members, vendors, and end-users.
