The project, titled "Nurturing Futures - Skills, Personality, and Life Competencies for Orphan Children," is designed to empower orphaned children—a vulnerable population estimated at 4.6 million nationwide. The initiative focuses on providing vocational training, personality development, and life skills to children aged 15-18, many of whom face socio-economic hardships and lack maternal guidance. By addressing gaps in formal education related to vocational and psychosocial support, the project aims to enhance mental health, confidence, ethical values, and practical skills, ultimately fostering resilience, self-esteem, and future employability among these young individuals.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for delivering gender- and age-appropriate vocational training sessions after school hours and on weekends. These sessions will cover a variety of practical skills such as motorbike repairing, basic electrician work, mobile phone repairing, stitching and embroidery, beautician skills, handicrafts, and dairy product processing, including opportunities for online selling.
In addition, the consultant will facilitate personality development workshops tailored to different age groups. These sessions will focus on building confidence, instilling ethical values, promoting emotional well-being, goal setting, teamwork, public speaking, and encouraging community engagement through activities like plantation drives and clean & green campaigns.
Life skills development is another critical component, with workshops designed to promote self-care, social skills, independence, responsibility, problem-solving, and first aid training for children over 16. The consultant will also organize social awareness campaigns and collective problem-solving initiatives to enhance community involvement.
Coordination with partner organizations, the OSP team, and individual trainers or instructors will be essential. This includes managing a request for proposals process to ensure the quality and relevance of training programs. The consultant will also support children in obtaining government technical education board certification upon successful completion of courses.
Furthermore, the role requires organizing weekly and monthly interactive sessions and activities that align with the developmental needs of children from kindergarten through grade 10, ensuring a holistic approach to their growth and learning.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have experience in training and development, particularly in vocational skills and psychosocial support for children and youth. The ability to design and implement age-appropriate curricula that integrate personality development and life skills is essential.
A strong understanding of the socio-economic challenges faced by orphaned and vulnerable children in rural Pakistan is required. Excellent organizational and communication skills are necessary to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders, including trainers, organizations, and community members.
The consultant must also have the capacity to facilitate certification processes in coordination with government technical education boards, ensuring that children receive formal recognition for their skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Prior experience working in rural or underprivileged communities within Pakistan, especially in the KPK and Punjab regions, is highly desirable. Knowledge of gender-sensitive training approaches and inclusive education practices will be an advantage.

The role supports community empowerment and sustainable socio-economic advancement, providing a unique chance to make a tangible difference by equipping vulnerable children with the skills and confidence needed to lead productive and resilient lives.
