Job Summary
The Grant Writer plays a crucial role within the organization’s fundraising team, tasked with researching, drafting, and submitting persuasive grant proposals and donor reports. This position requires strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills, alongside a deep understanding of the funding environment in the development sector. By securing financial resources through well-crafted proposals and fostering positive relationships with donors, the Grant Writer directly supports the organization’s mission and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Development:
Develop tailored and compelling grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, and other donor communications. Work collaboratively with program, finance, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and leadership teams to gather accurate data and ensure proposals align with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Grant Research & Prospecting:
Identify and monitor potential funding opportunities from diverse sources, including national and international donors such as governments, foundations, multilateral agencies, and corporate partners. Keep abreast of grant databases and donor platforms to track requests for proposals (RFPs) and submission deadlines.

Grant Management Support:
Support the preparation of grant reports, donor updates, and compliance documents to uphold transparency and accountability standards. Maintain an organized calendar of deadlines for proposals, reports, and renewals to guarantee timely submissions.

Donor Communication:
Ensure clear, professional, and timely communication with current and prospective funders. Assist in creating materials such as organizational overviews, program summaries, and impact briefs to strengthen donor engagement and trust.

Capacity Building:
Enhance the internal grant writing capacity by developing templates, checklists, and providing training to team members as needed. This contributes to the overall efficiency and quality of grant submissions across the organization.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, International Development, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Three to five years of proven experience in grant writing within NGOs or development organizations.
- Demonstrated success in securing funding from national and international donors, including USAID, DFID/FCDO, the European Union, UN agencies, and private foundations.
- Exceptional research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with donor guidelines, logical frameworks (log frames), budgeting, and M&E frameworks.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; experience with grant tracking software is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work are essential. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, capable of working independently, and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Fluency in English is required. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Lahore, offering a monthly salary of Rs85,000.
