Job Summary

A prominent US-based supermarket giant is expanding its IT operations in Pakistan and is looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join their team remotely. This role is critical in managing and overseeing the company’s Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems, ensuring smooth and secure B2B communication and data exchange between internal systems and external partners. Reporting directly to the IT Director, the successful candidate will bring strong expertise in EDI standards, secure data transmission protocols, and ERP integrations, with a focus on CounterPoint ERP. This position demands a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can maintain reliable electronic data flows essential to the company’s retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end EDI activities, including the creation, validation, and transmission of key documents such as 810 (invoices) and 850 (purchase orders).
- Maintain and administer OpenAS2 servers, including certificate management, partner profile configurations, and ensuring secure endpoint connections.
- Oversee the parsing, validation, and routing of incoming EDI orders to the company’s website and ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor data pipelines continuously and troubleshoot any issues related to EDI processing across multiple systems and business partners.
- Administer the EDI engine and maintain file automation scripts to support uninterrupted operations.
- Document all EDI workflows, partner setups, and integration logic thoroughly for internal use and compliance purposes.
- Manage barcode logic for both retail and wholesale transactions, supporting inventory management and sales processes.
- Collaborate closely with web development and ERP teams to integrate and scale the EDI infrastructure effectively, ensuring alignment with business needs.

Required Qualifications

- At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with EDI systems, AS2 protocols, and SFTP file transfers.
- Strong proficiency in EDI standards, particularly X12 810 and 850 transaction sets, including the ability to troubleshoot transaction flows.
- Practical experience with OpenAS2 or similar AS2 communication frameworks is essential.
- Solid understanding of ERP systems and order processing workflows, with specific experience in CounterPoint ERP highly preferred.
- Competence in both Linux and Windows server administration, including scripting and networking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to document, test, and deploy EDI changes across staging and production environments efficiently.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
