Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Machine Maintenance/Utilities at the Karachi Plant plays a crucial role in supporting the Head of Department (HOD) in managing both preventive and breakdown maintenance activities. This position primarily focuses on maintaining Injection Molding Machines along with essential auxiliary equipment such as Cooling Towers, Chillers, and Compressors. The role demands hands-on involvement in planning and executing a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program aimed at minimizing downtime and enhancing overall equipment performance to ensure seamless plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager will assist the HOD in overseeing the preventive and corrective maintenance of all injection molding machines and related utilities. This includes planning, scheduling, and executing preventive maintenance programs to maintain optimal equipment functionality. The role requires continuous monitoring and upkeep of auxiliary equipment including cooling towers, chillers, and compressors to ensure their reliable operation.

Coordination of maintenance activities is essential to reduce operational disruptions and improve equipment reliability. The Assistant Manager will support troubleshooting and repair efforts during machine breakdowns, ensuring swift resolution to minimize production losses. Maintaining accurate maintenance records and regularly reporting equipment status and maintenance outcomes to management is also a critical part of the role.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a reputable university. A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a similar maintenance role is required, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment. This experience should demonstrate a solid understanding of machinery maintenance and plant utilities management.

Experience specifically with injection molding machinery and plant utilities is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess strong planning and organizational skills to effectively manage preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate maintenance teams.

Additional Details
There is one vacancy available for this full-time, on-site position located at Omar Jibran Engineering Industries Ltd., DSU-10, Pakistan Steel Downstream Industrial Estate, Bin Qasim, Karachi. Working hours are from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility as required by job demands. The salary range is PKR 100,000 to PKR 120,000 per month, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
