Job Summary
We are looking for a committed Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enforcing HSE policies, conducting thorough inspections and risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory standards. This position demands a proactive individual capable of leading incident investigations, delivering effective training programs, and maintaining comprehensive documentation to support a culture of safety across all company locations.
Key Responsibilities
Developing, implementing, and enforcing HSE policies and procedures aligned with company standards and legal requirements will be a primary focus. You will conduct regular inspections and audits to identify hazards and evaluate risks, ensuring that potential issues are addressed promptly.
Leading incident investigations is a critical part of this role. You will analyze incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, providing HSE training and education to employees, contractors, and visitors is essential to enhance overall safety awareness and compliance.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date HSE records and documentation in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act is required. You will perform risk assessments and develop a comprehensive HSE gap analysis to identify areas for improvement within the organization.
You will also prepare and submit a tailored list of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on employee roles for management approval. Assisting in the development of Emergency Evacuation Procedures as directed will further support workplace safety preparedness.
Supervision of the HSE Assistant’s activities at assigned sites is part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all HSE documentation is properly managed according to company policies and legal provisions. Additionally, you will oversee the department’s records management function to maintain compliance with approved policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and possess 1 to 2 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment roles. Certification in IOSH, NEBOSH, or OSHAS is mandatory to demonstrate professional competence.
A strong understanding of HSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices is essential. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
The ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team environment is important. Candidates must be willing and able to commute easily to various project locations, including assignments outside the main station.
