Job Summary
The IT Assistant is a crucial member of the IT team, responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure and daily operations. This role involves providing technical assistance with hardware and software, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing IT systems to ensure smooth and efficient functionality. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a BPO environment and possess in-depth knowledge of the VICI dialer system. Close collaboration with the Dialer Administrator is essential, particularly in managing dialer operations and data uploads. A solid understanding of VOIP technology and carrier systems is also required to excel in this position.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, and other IT-related issues. When problems cannot be resolved immediately, escalate them appropriately to ensure timely solutions. Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems to maintain optimal system performance.
Assist with the setup, installation, and routine maintenance of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. This includes cleaning, upgrading, and replacing components as needed. Support the setup and upkeep of local area networks (LANs), ensuring consistent connectivity and promptly addressing network issues.
Help configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls to maintain secure and efficient network operations. Participate in data backup and recovery efforts to protect data integrity and availability.
Assist with data management tasks, including organizing files, allocating storage, and managing access controls. Support the implementation and maintenance of IT security measures such as antivirus software, firewalls, and access controls. Monitor for security breaches and assist in incident response when necessary.
Document IT procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference. Provide basic training to end-users on IT systems, software applications, and best practices to enhance user competency.
Collaborate with fellow IT team members to identify opportunities for infrastructure and process improvements. Coordinate with vendors and external service providers to manage IT procurement and support services.
Manage dialer operations in partnership with the Dialer Administrator, including data uploads and system monitoring. A strong understanding of VOIP and carrier technologies is essential for this responsibility.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have proven experience in an IT support role or a similar capacity.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and software applications is required, with hands-on experience using the VICI dialer system. Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and IT support tools is essential.
Experience working in a BPO environment is mandatory. Candidates must have a solid understanding of VOIP technology and carrier systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, enabling the candidate to work effectively both independently and within a team. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, along with attention to detail and effective task prioritization skills, are critical for success.
