Job Summary
A well-established construction and development company in Pakistan is seeking a highly experienced Chief Engineer / Site Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of high-rise building projects nationwide. This full-time leadership role focuses on managing multi-storey residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments in urban settings. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in high-rise construction, deep knowledge of local building codes and compliance standards, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Reporting directly to the General Manager Projects or Directors, this position requires strong project management skills and the capability to oversee complex site operations across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily site operations and manage the entire project lifecycle of multi-storey buildings, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Monitor and control project budgets and financial performance, identifying risks early and implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Coordinate closely with local consultants, architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Develop, maintain, and track project schedules, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and work plans, ensuring strict adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
- Ensure full compliance with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) regulations, local building by-laws, safety protocols, and labor laws throughout the project.
- Supervise civil, structural, and finishing works through to final handover, maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Oversee on-site activities including material procurement, subcontractor management, and workforce allocation to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the project site and head office, providing regular progress updates and reports to senior management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to build a high-performing, accountable project team.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Project Management from an HEC-recognized university.
- Valid registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is mandatory.
- Approximately 25 years of construction experience, including at least 10 years in senior leadership or site head roles specifically focused on high-rise projects.
- Proven track record of successfully completing a minimum of two high-rise building projects.
- Strong knowledge of local construction practices, material sourcing, and labor management.
- Expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Proficiency in modern construction techniques and project management software such as Primavera, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
- Experience with on-site reporting systems and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills to effectively manage diverse project teams.
- Practical understanding of approval processes related to LDA, SBCA, CDA, and other Development Authorities.
- Excellent crisis management, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and perform efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and green construction methods is an advantage.
This role requires the candidate to be based on-site with assignments across Pakistan. The maximum age limit for applicants is 55 years.
