SQA Engineer

Job Summary
Waada Digital is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products across web, mobile, and desktop platforms. You will collaborate closely with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of software functionality and user experience.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing, documenting, and executing thorough test cases and procedures to verify that software meets all specified requirements. Manual testing across multiple platforms—including web, mobile, and desktop—will be a core part of your duties to identify defects and confirm proper functionality.

Tracking and reporting software defects accurately using bug tracking tools such as JIRA will be essential. You will work collaboratively with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to clarify feature requirements and user stories, ensuring a clear understanding of testing objectives.

Your role will also involve conducting various types of testing, including regression, functional, performance, and usability testing. All testing activities must align with the established test strategy and organizational processes.

Active participation in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospective meetings will help prioritize testing efforts and integrate quality assurance seamlessly into the development cycle. Additionally, you will be expected to continuously recommend improvements to testing processes, tools, and techniques to enhance overall quality assurance practices.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing is required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with excellent attention to detail, are critical for success in this role. You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential to facilitate clear collaboration across departments.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
While proficiency in manual testing is mandatory, knowledge of automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or JMeter is highly desirable. Experience with SQL for database testing, including schema verification, will be advantageous.

Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman and a solid understanding of testing methodologies—especially Agile—and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) will strengthen your candidacy. Experience using bug tracking tools like JIRA is preferred, and basic knowledge of test automation frameworks will be considered a plus.

Job Details
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Karachi. Candidates must be willing to work from the Karachi office.
