Job Summary
RAG Process LLC is looking for a proficient Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems tailored for oil and gas processes. This position demands strong technical expertise in process control, automation, and instrumentation systems within the energy sector. The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, efficient system designs that comply with industry standards and meet client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
The Instrumentation & Control Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing instrumentation and control systems specifically for oil and gas process plants. This includes preparing detailed I/O lists, loop diagrams, instrument datasheets, and control philosophies that guide system implementation. The role involves selecting and specifying a variety of field instruments, control valves, transmitters, PLCs, and DCS systems to ensure optimal performance.
Accurate calibration, configuration, and testing of instruments and control panels are essential duties. The engineer will collaborate with process, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of system components. Supporting commissioning activities, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing control systems to enhance operational efficiency are also key aspects of this role.
Compliance with international standards such as API, ISA, and IEC, alongside client-specific requirements, is mandatory. The engineer will coordinate with vendors to clarify technical details and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs). Maintaining comprehensive documentation and updating records in line with project and QA/QC protocols is critical to project success.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering. A professional background of 3 to 6 years in instrumentation and control engineering is required, preferably within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
Applicants should demonstrate strong knowledge of control system architectures, instrumentation design principles, and loop tuning techniques. Hands-on experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems is essential, with familiarity in platforms such as Siemens, ABB, and Emerson highly valued. Understanding hazardous area classifications and intrinsic safety standards is also necessary.
Excellent analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to coordinate within multidisciplinary teams are crucial. The candidate must be capable of thriving in fast-paced project environments while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
While not explicitly stated, candidates with additional certifications or experience in advanced automation technologies and project management will be considered favorably. This is a full-time, in-person position offering the opportunity to work on challenging projects within a reputable company in the energy sector.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their CVs by June 30, 2025. Please ensure applications do not include direct contact information within the job description submission.
