Job Summary
Reporting to the Controls Testing Manager, the Controls Testing Lead (Resiliency) will be instrumental in developing and executing testing methodologies for critical controls within Experian’s global operations. This role primarily focuses on assurance activities related to resiliency and critical controls testing, with potential involvement in other operational risk areas. The Lead will work closely with assurance teams across the first, second, and third lines of defence to identify, communicate, and monitor control gaps, ensuring alignment with Experian’s risk management framework. Additionally, the role supports the Controls Testing Manager in refining testing methodologies, maintaining the risk universe, and delivering integrated reporting.
Key Responsibilities
The Controls Testing Lead will assist the Controls Testing Manager in identifying and prioritising testing activities during assurance planning. They will plan and execute control tests, coordinating reviews with key stakeholders and managing control testing analysts both locally and internationally. Ensuring strict adherence to the assurance testing methodology is critical.
The role includes preparing draft reports that detail test results and advising business units on remediation strategies. This involves engaging the second line of defence and subject matter experts to agree on action plans. The Lead will present findings to senior management to secure buy-in and agreement on necessary actions.
Coordinating review lifecycle activities with senior stakeholders to ensure smooth execution is essential. The Lead will also collaborate with the Data Analytics team to explore opportunities for transforming manual testing into analytics-driven and continuous assurance activities, including model refinement and monitoring follow-up.
Supporting the first line of defence with issue remediation and validating evidence prior to issue closure is another key responsibility. The Lead will provide feedback to design and implementation teams based on insights gained from control testing, contributing to continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a degree-level education and have a minimum of four years’ experience in information security controls assurance or IT audit. Experience with Big 4 firms and/or internal audit is highly desirable. A strong understanding of IT systems and operations is essential.
Proven experience in scoping, executing, and reporting on access management control testing is required. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to identify key risks in access management and influence improvements in control environments.
Experience with data analytics or continuous monitoring techniques is important. The role demands strong skills in query handling, report writing, and presenting findings effectively. Experience working in a multinational environment is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English, are mandatory. Strong stakeholder management capabilities are necessary to engage effectively at multiple organizational levels. The ideal candidate will exhibit high personal integrity, a proactive work ethic, and resilience in a fast-paced global team.
A commercial and pragmatic approach to governance and change, combined with a problem-solving mindset and innovative solution proposals, is expected. The role requires a collaborative and consultative working style.
