Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Chemical Store In-Charge to oversee the management of chemicals used in the washing department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring proper storage, and adhering strictly to safety and environmental regulations. This role demands close collaboration with procurement and production teams to guarantee smooth operations without interruptions, while prioritizing health, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Chemical Store In-Charge will maintain precise inventory records of all chemicals utilized in the washing department. This includes ensuring that all chemicals are stored correctly, clearly labeled, and documented in line with safety and compliance requirements. The role involves receiving and inspecting incoming chemical shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders, and ensuring all materials comply with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Issuing chemicals to the washing and production teams based on daily operational needs is a critical task, with thorough documentation and consumption tracking to be maintained. The incumbent will coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of chemical stocks, preventing any production delays or stock shortages.
A key responsibility is to implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations related to chemical handling. This includes ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and managing spill response protocols effectively. The Chemical Store In-Charge will also monitor the shelf life and expiry dates of all chemicals, ensuring timely usage or safe disposal in accordance with company policies and environmental guidelines.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free chemical storage area is essential. Regular audits will be conducted to ensure all chemicals are stored following industry best practices and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ experience as a Chemical Store In-Charge or in a similar role involving chemical inventory management and safety compliance. A strong understanding of chemical handling procedures, safety regulations, and environmental compliance is essential.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven ability to maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate effectively with procurement teams. Familiarity with MSDS documentation and chemical labeling requirements is required. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of enforcing health and safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and managing spill situations.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to conduct regular audits are critical to success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, it is not mandatory for this position. This is a full-time, in-person role offering a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs65,000 to Rs75,000.
