Job Summary
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be instrumental in accelerating sales growth and expanding the dealer network for electric bikes within a specified territory. Serving as the primary point of contact between the company and its channel partners, the ASM will focus on enhancing brand visibility, increasing market share, and ensuring consistent after-sales support. This role demands a proactive and strategic approach to managing dealer relationships, executing sales plans, and supporting dealer teams to meet and exceed business goals.
Key Responsibilities
The ASM will develop and implement strategic sales plans aimed at achieving monthly and quarterly targets within the assigned region. A critical part of the role involves identifying potential dealers and distributors, onboarding them effectively, and nurturing long-term relationships with existing partners to strengthen the network.
Regular market visits are essential to monitor product availability, ensure proper merchandising, and maintain high customer satisfaction levels. The ASM will also keep a close watch on competitor activities, pricing models, and marketing strategies, providing valuable insights to senior management to maintain a competitive edge.
Training dealer sales teams on the features, benefits, and selling techniques related to electric bikes is another key responsibility. This ensures that dealer teams are well-equipped to drive sales and deliver excellent customer experiences.
Collaboration with the marketing team is vital to execute localized promotional campaigns and lead generation activities that support sales growth. The ASM will also oversee timely payment collections and manage credit cycles in line with company policies.
Accurate and timely preparation of sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews is required to track progress and inform strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline. An MBA will be considered an advantage. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of field sales experience, preferably within the automobile or electric vehicle industry.
Proven success in sales, dealer development, and market expansion is essential. Strong communication, negotiation, and team management skills are critical to effectively lead and support dealer networks.
The role requires a willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory to maintain close contact with dealers and oversee sales activities.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Familiarity with electric vehicle products, Regional Transport Office (RTO) procedures, and charging infrastructure will be highly advantageous.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs 80,000 to Rs 100,000. The role involves significant travel, with most work conducted on the road within the designated area.
