S. Zia-ul-Haq & Sons (Pvt.) Ltd, a distinguished company founded in 1918, offers a wide range of services including Catering, Housekeeping, Janitorial, Camp Management, Manpower Supply, Civil Engineering, and HVAC. The company primarily supports major Oil & Gas exploration projects in remote areas of Pakistan and is recognized for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, holding an ISO 9001:2000 certification. Currently, the company is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer on a four-month contract basis for their Uch Site located in Dera Murad Jamali, Baluchistan. This role is crucial for implementing and managing HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
The HSE Officer will be responsible for conducting comprehensive HSE food safety inspections and audits across multiple sites and company locations. This includes facilitating training sessions, toolbox talks (TBTs), and general communication meetings (GCMs) as needed. The candidate will develop and maintain site-specific HSE Management Systems that align with RDMC HSE standards.
Leading site HSE inspections, reporting, training, and incident investigations will be a core part of the role. The officer will also perform inspections of sites, deliveries, and vehicles, conduct vendor HSE audits, prepare emergency response plans, and organize regular emergency drills to ensure preparedness.
Timely preparation and submission of reports to clients and the head office are essential, alongside active participation in client HSE meetings. The role demands the development, implementation, and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental policies and programs that comply with relevant laws and standards.
Regular risk assessments and site inspections must be conducted to identify hazards, with corrective actions promptly enforced. The officer will coordinate and deliver safety training programs to improve employee awareness and compliance with safety procedures.
Staying current with changes in HSE regulations and ensuring organizational adherence is vital. The officer will foster a safety culture by encouraging open communication, conducting regular safety meetings, and recognizing HSE achievements. Participation in internal and external audits to evaluate compliance and identify improvement opportunities is also required.
Additionally, the officer will provide guidance on environmental compliance matters such as waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives. Preparation and submission of HSE reports to management, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders will be part of the responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (B.E., B.Sc.) along with NEBOSH certification. IOSH certification is highly desirable. A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience as a team leader within an HSE department is required.
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards such as OSHA, HACCP, and ISO 14001 is essential. Candidates should be familiar with firefighting techniques and food safety protocols. Proficiency in computer skills and excellent interpersonal, oral, written communication, and negotiation abilities are necessary for success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
