Job Summary
A reputable UK-based accounting firm is looking to hire a qualified Accountant to join their Lahore office on a full-time, onsite basis. The firm is recognized for its expert consultancy services, globally standardized processes, and reliable financial solutions trusted by both local businesses and international partners. The ideal candidate will be a CA-qualified professional with a minimum of two years’ practical experience or an ACCA/CIMA part-qualified accountant. This role offers a competitive salary and requires working hours from 1 pm to 9 pm Pakistan time, aligned with UK business hours.
Key Responsibilities
The Accountant will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and payable, including matching, coding, and processing purchase and sales invoices. Maintaining debtor balances within target limits and regularly reconciling customer accounts is essential. The role involves reconciling accounts receivable balances to control accounts, resolving customer and supplier queries, and ensuring effective controls and processes to minimize such issues.
Handling staff expenses in line with company policies, reconciling supplier statements, and processing BACS payments are key tasks. The candidate will also distribute remittance advices and ensure daily reconciliation of all bank accounts, including credit cards, while reconciling bank balances to control accounts.
Producing daily and weekly financial reports by the first working day and preparing monthly management accounts by the fifth working day are critical deliverables. The Accountant will lead monthly balance sheet reviews and actively participate in accounting system implementations, providing hands-on support.
Training junior colleagues as needed and assisting London-based accountants with the preparation and filing of external reports, such as HMRC and Companies House submissions, are important aspects of the role. Supporting compliance audits by preparing necessary files and information is also required.
Additionally, the candidate will identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting quality, internal controls, policies, and procedures, contributing to various ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with at least two years of relevant experience. Proven ability to independently provide end-to-end client support without reliance on London-based accountants is essential. Experience in implementing accounting systems and a strong background in financial and management accounting, including internal controls, is required.
Excellent IT skills, particularly advanced proficiency in Excel, are necessary. The candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills, high accuracy, and attention to detail. Effective self-management capabilities, including workload and priority management to meet deadlines, are expected.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for building positive relationships within the team and with clients. A results-oriented mindset combined with a proactive, “can do” attitude is highly valued.
