Job Summary
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) is a globally recognized system that monitors displacement and population mobility by regularly collecting, processing, and sharing critical data. This information offers valuable insights into the movements and changing needs of displaced populations, whether they are at specific sites or in transit. DTM is currently being implemented in Pakistan to support humanitarian efforts in high-mobility areas such as Chagai, Usta Muhammad, Killa Abdullah, and Naseerabad. To strengthen data collection in these regions, DTM is seeking enumerators on a contractual basis. These enumerators will conduct face-to-face and telephonic interviews to gather essential data that informs humanitarian response strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Enumerators will assist in identifying potential Key Informants and community facilitators to enhance data collection efforts. They will review scanned data collection forms daily to detect errors and perform physical verification of hard copies during field visits. Regular monitoring of enumerator performance through field visits is required, along with providing guidance to improve data quality.
Timely data entry into the KOBO system is essential, ideally on the same day interviews are conducted. Enumerators must verify the accuracy and quality of collected data and provide constructive feedback to their peers. Continuous training and support will be provided to ensure adherence to survey protocols.
Safety is a priority; enumerators must enforce all safety measures during fieldwork to protect themselves and their teams. Daily updates to the progress tracking sheet are required to reflect the status of data collection activities. Progress reports must be shared regularly with provincial DTM focal persons.
Maintaining consistent communication with enumerators is crucial to promptly address any challenges encountered in the field. Supervising the WhatsApp group to ensure live location sharing among team members is also part of the role. Upholding data integrity and protection standards in line with IOM’s Data Protection Manual is mandatory.
Enumerators will participate in briefings, orientation sessions, and training as needed and represent the program professionally during all assignments.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of a secondary school diploma from an accredited institution. Undergraduate students or fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Fluency in Urdu is mandatory, while the ability to communicate effectively in local languages such as Balochi, Pashto, Punjabi, or Sindhi is highly advantageous. English language skills are considered an additional asset.
Experience in conducting face-to-face or telephonic interviews for data collection is preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
A completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution will be considered an advantage. Prior experience in data collection or working with displaced populations is beneficial.
This position offers a daily wage of PKR 7,000, which includes travel and communication expenses related to field data collection. Employment is on a contractual basis, providing an opportunity to contribute to a globally recognized displacement monitoring system.
IOM is committed to equal opportunity employment and encourages applications from qualified females, males, and persons with disabilities.
Applications are open until 25th June 2025. Only shortlisted candidates who meet the required criteria will be contacted. This role offers a unique chance to engage directly with communities affected by displacement and contribute to vital humanitarian data collection efforts in Pakistan.
