Automation Engineer

Job Summary
Qualitest Group is looking for a talented Senior Automation Tester with around four years of experience to join our Hyderabad team. This role requires the candidate to work onsite at the client location two to three times per week. We seek a hands-on automation engineer capable of designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks and scripts to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including QA analysts, developers, and business analysts, to understand automation requirements, enhance existing processes, and contribute meaningfully to the overall testing strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests across frontend (UI and mobile) and backend systems, covering API, integration, and component testing.
- Write and maintain automation scripts using programming languages such as Java and Python.
- Build and sustain automation frameworks leveraging tools like Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, BDD Cucumber, and RestAssured.
- Conduct mobile testing on platforms such as LambdaTest and BrowserStack to ensure cross-device compatibility.
- Perform API testing using RestAssured and Postman to validate backend services and integrations.
- Create scalable, reusable automation solutions that can be applied across multiple projects to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with QA analysts, developers, and business analysts to identify automation needs and participate actively in requirement gathering and design discussions to evaluate automation feasibility.
- Execute automated test scripts, analyze test results, and document defects for timely resolution.
- Conduct regression testing to verify that application functionality remains intact after changes or enhancements.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Continuously identify and implement improvements in automation processes and tools to boost productivity and quality.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in automation testing to bring innovative solutions to the team.
- Provide training and support to team members on automation tools and methodologies, fostering knowledge sharing.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity throughout the testing lifecycle.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in automation testing.
- Strong expertise in Selenium with Java (proficiency rating 4/5).
- Proficient in API testing using RestAssured and Postman (proficiency rating 3/5).
- Experience with mobile automation tools such as Appium (proficiency rating 3/5).
- Solid programming skills in Java and Python.
- Practical experience with test frameworks including JUnit, TestNG, and BDD Cucumber.
- Familiarity with mobile testing platforms like LambdaTest and BrowserStack.
- Experience integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Willingness and ability to work onsite at the client location in Hyderabad 2-3 times per week.
