Job Summary
Ordering.pk is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer (BDO) to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in expanding our real-time multi-vendor e-commerce marketplace by identifying, engaging, and onboarding new vendors across multiple categories. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in fieldwork, regularly visiting local markets and interacting directly with sellers to drive vendor acquisition and ensure steady growth in vendor registrations. This hands-on position requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build lasting business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying potential vendors in diverse categories such as Grocery, Food, Pharmacy, Electronics, and Fashion. Daily field visits to local markets are essential to engage sellers face-to-face, present the platform’s features, benefits, and earning opportunities effectively, and encourage them to join Ordering.pk.
Once vendors are interested, the BDO will assist with the registration process, helping sellers set up their profiles and upload products to the platform. Building and nurturing long-term relationships with vendors is crucial, providing ongoing support throughout the onboarding journey to ensure a smooth transition onto the marketplace.
Maintaining accurate daily reports and performance logs is also a key part of the role, enabling the tracking of progress against targets. The BDO is expected to consistently meet or exceed monthly registration goals and other performance benchmarks set by the company.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, ideally with exposure to vendor acquisition or marketplace environments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to effectively engage with a diverse range of vendors.
The role demands the ability to work independently in a field-based capacity, demonstrating a proactive mindset to meet and surpass targets. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and basic technical skills are necessary to assist sellers during onboarding. Additionally, candidates must be willing and able to conduct frequent in-person visits within local markets to foster direct engagement.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience in managing multi-category vendors or working within marketplace operations will be considered an advantage. Ordering.pk offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs40,000 to Rs110,000, commensurate with performance and experience.
