Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant (Consultant) to join our finance team on a six-month full-time consultancy basis in Islamabad, Pakistan. This role is vital for delivering accurate and timely management accounts across our global branches and subsidiaries. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity of financial data, support strategic decision-making, and maintain visibility at both project and corporate levels. They will ensure compliance with IFRS, enhance reporting systems through automation, and work closely with regional finance teams, project managers, and finance shared services. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset is essential to streamline accounting processes, standardize procedures, and strengthen accountability throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and finalize monthly management accounts for corporate entities and projects spanning global branches and subsidiaries. Ensure timely completion of monthly closing activities, including journal postings, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations. Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations to resolve existing and legacy discrepancies.
Review the General Ledger meticulously to identify and correct incorrect entries and classifications. Develop and maintain project-level financial reports using Sage Intacct, ensuring alignment with client invoicing and accurate reflection of revenue, costs, gross margin, and profit recognition.
Validate Trial Balances to accurately represent project revenue, costs, margins, profits, corporate spend (including overheads, administration, and operations), accruals, deferred income, and work-in-progress. Ensure all management accounting outputs comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal financial policies.
Collaborate closely with Finance and Project Management teams to validate project data and financial metrics. Conduct variance analysis to highlight significant deviations from budgets or forecasts. Support internal and external audits by providing clear documentation, reconciliations, and explanations.
Contribute to continuous improvements in reporting systems, financial dashboards, and automation of management reporting. Ensure full and accurate utilization of Sage Intacct ERP for all relevant entries and reporting. Lead and coordinate with Shared Services and Regional finance teams to standardize processes, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting accuracy.
Promote a culture of accountability and collaboration within finance operations, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CAF, CA, or CIMA are preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in management accounting or FP&A roles within an international, multi-entity environment.
Proven experience in preparing monthly management accounts, trial balances, and project-level financial reports is essential. A strong understanding of IFRS and financial best practices in both corporate and project contexts is required. Candidates must possess excellent analytical and reconciliation skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and consistency.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with reporting tools or BI dashboards are necessary. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing competing priorities independently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams. Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate teams across different geographies is also required.
