We are currently looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Analyst with expertise in actuarial science and retirement plan administration. This role focuses on validating the accuracy and regulatory compliance of a national retirement plan administration platform used by third-party administrators, recordkeepers, accountants, and actuaries. The platform supports critical functions for both defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) plans, including valuations, testing, actuarial computations, participant allocations, government filings, and document generation. The successful candidate will manage QA timelines and coordinate updates to ensure compliance with regulatory changes and project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to verify the functionality and calculations for DC and DB plans. This includes eligibility, contributions, allocations, accruals, and compliance aspects. Analyze plan documents, specifications, and regulatory updates to ensure accurate implementation. Conduct regression, functional, and user acceptance testing to maintain system consistency and accuracy.
Actuarial Accuracy & Compliance: Validate defined benefit plan calculations such as funding valuations, service-based accruals, and equivalency testing to ensure actuarial soundness. Verify non-discrimination testing logic, including ADP/ACP, 410(b), 401(a)(4), and top-heavy rules for multi-type combination plans. Authenticate outputs at both employee and employer levels, including contributions and deduction limits. Ensure system compliance with IRS, DOL, PBGC, and ERISA regulations, including support for government filings like the 5500 series.
Project & Change Management: Lead QA efforts within cross-functional projects, ensuring timely delivery of tasks related to regulatory updates, client feedback, or feature enhancements. Collaborate closely with support and development teams to prioritize and manage changes, especially those driven by new legislation such as SECURE 2.0. Maintain oversight of QA schedules and proactively address risks that could impact release timelines.
Collaboration & Documentation: Serve as a liaison between development, actuarial, and support teams to clarify requirements and validate outcomes for DC and DB features. Provide detailed documentation to developers, including calculation logic, expected system behavior, and issue descriptions to facilitate accurate implementation and efficient resolution. Document test results, validation methods, and workflow logic to support audit readiness and knowledge sharing.
Data Review & Integrity: Perform rigorous data validation to ensure the accuracy of participant- and plan-level information used in actuarial calculations, DC allocations, and government filings. Support QA review of data integrations, such as payroll and recordkeeping feeds, ensuring consistent and clean data flow across modules.

- 3 to 7 years of experience with actuarial calculations, complex compliance rules, or retirement plan administration.
- Deep understanding of defined benefit and defined contribution plan operations and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to interpret and apply IRS, DOL, PBGC, and ERISA regulations in system testing and documentation.
