Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. This role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 100,000, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and supporting financial reporting for both internal management and donor-related purposes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent analytical abilities, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles, especially within the NGO or development sector.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger management, payroll processing, budgeting, and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance. You will prepare accurate and timely financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to support organizational decision-making and donor requirements. Managing audit processes is a critical part of this role, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth audits and compliance checks.
Timely submission of tax filings and ensuring full compliance with statutory obligations fall under your purview. You will also maintain and continuously improve internal financial controls to protect the organization’s assets and ensure transparency. Supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff is essential, along with collaborating closely with program teams to address financial matters and support project implementation.
Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing detailed financial reports for donors and managing restricted funding in strict accordance with grant agreements, ensuring accountability and proper fund utilization.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in accounting roles is required, demonstrating a strong track record of managing complex accounting functions. A deep knowledge of accounting standards, NGO financial reporting, and tax legislation is essential.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are mandatory to efficiently handle financial data and reporting. The role demands excellent analytical skills, clear communication abilities, and strong leadership qualities to effectively manage teams and interact with various stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience working within NGOs or the development sector is highly desirable, as it will enable the candidate to better understand sector-specific financial requirements and donor expectations.
