Job Summary
Ingredion, a global leader in natural ingredient solutions serving over 60 industries, is seeking a Junior Production Engineer to join their team in Jamshoro/Hyderabad. This on-site position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the production of everyday products ranging from chocolates and pet food to paper and snacks. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing production shifts, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining stringent quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Production Engineer, you will lead production shifts to achieve both quality and quantity targets while minimizing product losses. Your duties include preparing detailed shift-wise production reports and managing worker attendance to maintain smooth operations. You will work closely with the Shift Chemist to identify and resolve in-process non-conformances, ensuring proper segregation of product grades and accurate functioning of weighing scales.
Monitoring and maintaining the performance of process equipment is a critical part of your role. You will coordinate with the Shift Engineer during plant shutdowns or load shedding events to ensure uninterrupted operations. Driving continuous process improvements through technological upgrades and analytical problem-solving will be essential to enhance efficiency and foster innovation.
Safety is paramount in this role. You will enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with work permits for technical tasks. Conducting training sessions on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and production processes will also be part of your responsibilities, promoting a culture of safety and awareness among the workforce.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (B.Sc or B.E) with at least one year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, instrumentation, and operation of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Sequential Logic Controllers (SLC) is essential.
Experience in labor management and plant troubleshooting is required to effectively handle day-to-day operational challenges. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) procedures is necessary to maintain product quality and safety standards. Additionally, a solid grasp of safety and environmental regulations is expected to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment.
