We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist to work closely with Regional Solution Leads, Services sales teams, Account Teams, and Product Management. This role focuses on supporting pre-sales and solution development efforts by leveraging deep analytics expertise to address complex business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with account teams and prospective clients to thoroughly analyze and understand business needs through detailed data exploration and analysis. Lead the conceptualization and discussion of solutions tailored to assigned use cases. Develop ready-to-engage and ready-to-sell collateral that supports sales initiatives. Utilize advanced analytical tools and deep learning frameworks to deliver customized solutions as required. Actively participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative analytics ideas and solution approaches. Build solution showcases and assist account teams during high-level customer presentations. Support pre-sales activities by effectively positioning solutions and preparing precise estimations. Mentor and guide pre-sales teams to ensure alignment with customer requirements. Conduct assessments and proof-of-concept (POC) activities to strengthen pre-sales engagements.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in data-driven fields such as Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, or Analytics. Proficiency in programming languages including R, Python, and Java is required, along with strong skills in SQL and data querying. A solid understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning methodologies is necessary. Hands-on experience with artificial intelligence and deep learning technologies is expected. Candidates must possess business domain knowledge in at least two sectors such as Telecommunications, Retail, Manufacturing, or Healthcare. The ability to analyze customer technology environments, define business requirements, and conduct risk analysis is critical. Strong requirement elicitation and analysis skills are needed. Excellent communication skills are essential to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The role demands demonstrated capability to manage critical situations independently while working collaboratively within a team. Willingness to travel approximately 20-30% for business purposes is required.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Advanced degrees such as a Master’s or Doctorate in relevant fields are preferred. Experience with cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is advantageous. Familiarity with the Teradata platform and ClearScape Analytics will be considered a strong plus. Prior experience serving as a technical lead in pre-sales support and solution delivery is beneficial. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and storytelling skills to effectively communicate insights. The ability to coordinate with subject matter experts and stakeholders, manage timelines, handle escalations, and prioritize shifting deadlines is highly valued.
The successful candidate will be based at any Teradata Global Services Innovation Hub or work virtually within India, Pakistan, or Prague.
