Maintenance of Land Records:
- Update and preserve records of land ownership, tenancy, and cultivation.
- Prepare and update Jamabandi (record of rights) and other related documents.
Revenue Collection:
- Assess and collect land revenue, water charges, and other agricultural taxes.
- Keep a record of payments and dues from landowners and cultivators.
Measurement of Land:
- Conduct land surveys and measurements using traditional or modern tools.
- Resolve disputes related to land boundaries.
Facilitating Transactions:
- Assist in the transfer of land ownership and mutations (inheritance or sale of property).
- Ensure proper documentation and registration of transactions.
Dispute Resolution:
- Help resolve disputes related to land ownership, tenancy, or usage.
- Act as a mediator in land-related conflicts within the community.
Coordination with Authorities:
- Report and coordinate with higher authorities, such as Tehsildars or revenue officers, on land-related issues.
- Assist in government surveys, projects, and audits related to land management.
Support in Government Schemes:
- Provide data and assistance for the implementation of government schemes in rural areas.
- Help identify beneficiaries for subsidies, compensation, or relief measures during natural calamities.
Public Services:
- Issue copies of land records, revenue receipts, and other certificates to landowners or farmers.
- Guide villagers on legal and administrative procedures related to land matters.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations concerning land revenue and management.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to higher authorities.
