The Lead Payment Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our comprehensive payment gateway platform. This role involves overseeing the entire development lifecycle, from conceptualization and architecture design to implementation and integration with various payment service providers and financial institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop a scalable, secure, and robust payment gateway platform that supports multiple payment methods and currencies.
- Integrate the platform with various payment service providers (PSPs), acquirers, and other financial institutions, ensuring seamless transaction processing.
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, front-end developers, and UX/UI designers, to deliver a user-friendly and efficient payment experience.
- Develop and maintain APIs for merchant integration, providing clear documentation and support for seamless integration.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the payment platform, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Stay abreast of emerging payment technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the platform.
- Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative development environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing payment gateways, financial software, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in relevant programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or Node.js.
- Experience with RESTful API design and development, as well as integration with third-party services.
- Knowledge of security protocols and compliance requirements related to payment processing.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and deliver innovative solutions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
