Profile:
Being a passionate development and education professional for the last 13 years, I have flourished my skills in project design and implementation, TLMs development, teachers’ training, curriculum reviews, education policies’ analysis, national and provincial education data analysis and support to government education managers through working with national and international organizations as well as government education institutions. I have worked with Handicap International France, International Rescue Committee USA (IRC), Management System International USA (MSI), GIZ Germany, Human Development Organization Duaba (HDOD) and Adam Smith International (ASI) UK.
I have mainly focused upon education portfolios in the contexts of Emergencies, Early Recovery, and development scenarios in KP, Balochistan and NMDs (Former FATA). I have played a key role in the design and implementation of the following projects.
· Strengthening Education and Health Services for refugees and vulnerable host communities (EHS) funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic cooperation and development currently being implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in partnership with Institute of Management Sciences University and Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP).
. Teach and Educate Adolescent Girls through Community Help (TEACH) under LNGB fund window of DFID, 3 years integrated project of Education, livelihood and protection currently being implemented in Balochistan by TEACH consortium partners led by IRC.
· Continuation of Education for IDPs’ Children and Adolescents in Jalozai Camp by IRC in partnership with UNICEF since February 2011 to June 2013.
· Partnership for Peace- Communities and government working together for improved services funded by Dutch MOFA and implemented by IRC in partnership with 5 national organization in FATA since June 2013 to September, 2016.
· FATA Recovery and Transition Program of UNDP (Education Component) implemented in five tribal areas of FATA since July 2016 till April, 2018 ( USAID Funded)
· KP Education Sector Plan (2015-20) at Dera Ismael Khan since May, 2018 implemented by Adam Smith International in partnership with E & SE and SRSP (DFID Funded)
Short Term Assignments/Consultancies:
· Lead a team of 20 Quality Control Officers for conducting Early Grade Reading Assessment-EGRA (Mid-term) undertook by MSI for Pakistan Reading Project funded by USAID.
· Developed policy recommendations for improved literacy and numeracy skills of students to E & SE KP and FATA.
· As a consultant of UNDP for carrying out TNA and capacity building of Education Officials of FATA Education Directorate.
As a Technical Advisor CD Education, I’m supporting implementing partners SRSP and IM Sciences in the designing and management of a three years project titled “Strengthening Education and Health Services for Afghan refugees and vulnerable host communities” in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I’m also providing technical support to district and provincial education offices and Commissioner Afghan Refugees (CAR) KP for improved service delivery and inclusion of Afghan refugees and vulnerable groups in education planning and implementation. The project interventions are focused on improved service delivery and capacities of government education and health departments considering gender equality and inclusion of vulnerable groups including PWDs, women, youth and minorities. The project interventions are contributing to SDGs 3,4,5,10 and 16.
I am supporting 3 consortium partners for implementing a three years project named TEACH funded by DFID/GEC under the Leave NO Girl Behind (LNGB) funding stream, focused on Accelerated Learning Program (ALP), Livelihood Skills Development and GBV for out-of-school adolescent girls. I ensure the achievement of grant deliverables and budget compliance within donor guidelines. I provide technical support, supervision, training and mentoring to the Education partners on implementing and monitoring education activities. I maintain productive working relationship with key education actors working in formal and Non-formal education sector for knowledge sharing on best practices and implementation across the targeted districts. I provide direct support to the partners for grant management, procurement planning, and reporting. I support Education partners in producing high quality progress reports with clear rationale for over/under achievement of the planned targets. In coordination with the Team Leader, Education Coordinator and the Senior MEAL Coordinator, support on MEAL framework, including quality control and reporting systems.
Being a district head, I’ve provided technical support to government District Education Offices in the implementation of 5 years Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Sector Program (KESP) funded by DFID and implemented by Adam Smith International (ASI) in partnership with SRSP and E & SE KP. I was responsible for developing annual District Education Plan (DEP), monitor its implementation at district level and analysis of progress against indicators. I have provided technical support to government education managers (ASDEOs, ADOs, SDEOs and DEOs) to ensure progress against indicators of KESP.
I have managed FATA Transition and Recovery Program (FTRP) in partnership with UNDP funded by USAID in 5 former tribal areas of FATA (now NMDS). I was responsible for providing technical support to agency education offices on the rehabilitation of schools destroyed during terrorism and capacity building of field education managers, teachers, and Parents’ Teachers Councils (PTCs). I had to manage grant implementation and compliance. I was responsible to maintain coordination with UNDP, FATA Education Directorate, Political Administration, and agency education offices.
I have supervised the planning and implementation of Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) midline of Pakistan Reading Project KP region with MSI funded by USAID. I was responsible for supervising and mentoring Quality Control Officers and ensuring compliance with standard procedures and protocols. I was responsible to oversee the performance of subcontractors.
I have led 5 National Implementing Partners to manage a 4-year Community Based Education & WASH integrated project funded by Dutch MOFA in former FATA of Pakistan. I was responsible for providing technical support to IPs regarding planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities. I was responsible to ensure grant compliance and project deliverables. I was also responsible for coordinating project activities with government stakeholders at FATA Directorate of Education, Directorate of Projects (DoP), Political Administration, agency education offices and Teachers’ Training Institutes (TTIs).
I was responsible for developing teachers training materials, TLMs, conducting TNAs and trainings under a 4-years Community Based Education and WASH project funded by Dutch MOFA. I have maintained coordination with Teachers Training Institutes, IPs and MoE for planning, implementing, and monitoring training activities of the project. I have carried out baseline, midline, and end-line EGRA and EGMA assessments of the project, its analysis and reporting. I was also responsible for reviewing IPs work plans, spending plans and periodic reports.
I was responsible for managing IDPs camp-based schools, teachers, and their day to day activities. I was responsible for developing training materials, TLMs and conducting teachers and PTCs trainings. I was also responsible for planning and providing schools and students supplies. I maintained coordination with Provincial Disaster Management Agency (PDMA), camp administration, IPs, and School Management Committees (SMCs). I used to develop periodic reports of the project.
I was responsible to supervise monitors and facilitators to conduct activities at CFS level. I used to undertake the capacity building activities of monitors and facilitators. I was responsible to identify Children with Disabilities (CWDs) and their specific needs including provision of assistive devices.
I was responsible for conducting awareness sessions on UXOs and Mines, assessment of victims of UXOs, Mines and other explosions. I used to refer victims of UXOs and Mines for orthotic and prosthetic services to relevant service providers.
