A highly initiative-taking and dedicated development professional with 16 years of experience in Education, Health, Protection, and livelihoods with substantial field experience managing humanitarian and development projects in different parts of the country. In my current assignment with the International Rescue Committee, I am responsible to lead the overall floods emergency response in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. I have successfully completed projects in hard-to-reach areas supported by different institutional and non-institutional donors through engaging communities, liaison with stakeholders, coordination with partners and ensuring donor compliance. I have demonstrated, experienced sustainable models, and provided advisory support to different organizations. My areas of expertise are program management in the above-mentioned thematic areas and hands-on experience of multiple donors while managing multiple projects. I represented organizations at different forums and delivered high quality presentations to the donors
As a Senior Project Manager - Education, I am responsible for overall strategic and operational management of a €2.2 million project funded by the PATRIP Foundation. My key responsibilities include providing technical backstopping to field staff for the timely and effective implementation of activities. I am also accountable for updating the Logical Framework Analysis (LFA), Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP), and budget spending plan in alignment with the agreed project framework.
I maintain close coordination with key stakeholders, including the Departments of Education, Health, and Buildings & Roads (B&R), as well as INGOs and other relevant partners. Additionally, I facilitate the technical team in developing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for school construction and oversee the hiring of consultants or firms for conducting Training Needs Assessments (TNAs), developing training modules, and organizing face-to-face teacher training sessions in pedagogy.
My role includes implementing a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program to enhance the foundational skills of students. I actively foster social cohesion between host and refugee communities through festivals, gala events, and community dialogue sessions, promoting harmony and mutual understanding.
Managed multiple budgets in Balochistan, $12-15 million annual program portfolio for emergency response, health, WASH, livelihood, and education projects in remote locations of Balochistan. Managed multiple donors’ responses include ECHO, FCDO, SIDA, BMGF, UNICEF, Irish-Aid, UNWFP, and Malala Fund. Defined deliverables, mentor resources, conducted performance reviews, ensured transparency, and enforced accountability at all levels. Ensured compliance with IRC’s and donors required SOPs and standards. Provided technical backstopping to local partners to ensure the smooth execution of project, prepared quality reports for donors, designing new projects, ensured timely budget spending, managed HR, supply chain, ensured timely implementation of Education, Health, MHPSS, protection and cash-based interventions, multipurpose cash assistance, cash-for-work.
As Senior Education Manager, I was responsible for overall project management at the provincial level and led the project in two districts of Balochistan. During this engagement, I provided technical backstopping in teachers training, students assessment and classrooms management to the partners to ensure efficient and effective implementation of the project. To ensure transparency and accountability at all levels, I regularly coordinated with stakeholders, communities and partners and conducted periodic reviews of the project progress. During this project, we have not only achieved the overall project targets but also successfully mainstreamed 3000 out of school’s refugee and host children to Pakistani schools. In addition, through participatory approaches, sessions regarding protection, life skills, safeguarding and MHPSS were conducted in the targeted women and men communities. I represented IRC at different forums and shared the project’s progress with other partner organizations to avoid duplication of efforts and build synergies with other actors. To ensure sustainability of the project and to retain the mainstreamed students, schools’ improvement plans were successfully implemented in close consultation with the department of education and communities. During project tenure, I advocated with the education department for provision of annual development budgets to these schools and linked parent teacher committees with education department for future coordination. I was responsible for working closely and collaboratively with internal colleagues and partners to collect, analyze and share information on implementation issues. Teachers were trained in pedagogy, social emotional learning, and classrooms management in both districts. I was responsible to monitor and report on the use of sectoral programme resources (financial, administrative, and other assets), verify compliance with approved allocation, organizational rules, regulations/procedures and donor commitments, standards of accountability and integrity.
