As The Friday Times's assistant editor, I was on the editorial board and was responsible for managing the entire content of the 32 page weekly. Supervising the entire task of commissioning reporters, feature and op-ed writers, I was responsible for editing the content and finalizing layouts for the newspaper. This also involved writing for the newspaper on a daily basis. With a deep interest in photojournalism, having freelanced with AP and Reuters, I contributed with my photo essays. I've worked for 5 years with Daily Times, one of Pakistan's leading and progressive English dailies. People I worked with and trained went on to establish newer English publications like Newsweek Pakistan and Express Tribune. I worked on the front-back section of the newspapers, which required strong and responsible editing skills, as the pages carried crucial current affairs. In addition to editing the pages, I started my career of reporting and photographing for the city pages, often making the front pages. I climbed the ladders of success in those years and was later hired by The Friday Times as their assistant editor. The Friday Times is one of Asia's most respected English independent weeklies.

Job Description:
Public Affairs:
Maintain periodic liaison with bodies such as ABF, OICCI, ABC, MAP, CAP for information and issues sharing.
Expand CCBPL’s network of Government relationships by arranging regular interface between relevant Government authorities and Director External Affairs
Build up a data base of key Government & Media contacts, both at national/provincial level
Keep current on key government policies and initiatives which impact CCBPL’s business
Identify significant public policy issues that can be leveraged to support CCBPL’s business
CSR:
Actively keep track of community programs and external CSR activities which CCBPL may participate in or take a lead on.
Coordinate CSR reporting process with CCI – to ensure relevant analysis is carried out and data is provided within the given timeframe.
Support the collection of data on all CSR initiatives and maintain a record of all CSR initiatives.
Idea generation for new CSR initiatives.
Coordination of Business Planning for CSR- keep regular track of budget and expenses.
Assist in CSR projects’ execution within given timeframe.
Benchmark competition and industry best practices.
Communication:
Analyse the current and generate ideas for new communication plans for CCBPL and ensure effective usage of communication tools such as print media, intranet, press releases and social media.
Building partnerships with external stakeholders and media specialists by arranging regular interface.
Keep track of all current local and international affairs that may have an impact on CCBPL‘s business.
Develop and Execute creative plans for internal and external communications and employee involvement as needed.
Collaborate with the Capability Team and Talent Aquisition Team for newsletter matters and internal communications.
Design/Draft communication materials for employee related activities.
Design and timely communication of press releases related to CCBPL.
