Ghazi Barotha power project is Hydel power project having capacity of 1450 MW. This power project is actually built on tail race of Tarbela dam ,a barrage located at Ghazi which turn water to Barotha where power complex is located ,water came from tail race of Tarbela to barrage and then to Barotha ,here water is utilized to generate electricity and then this water is directed into Indus River .
A 52 km long canal is made between tail race of Tarbela and Barotha which ended at Barotha ,Ghazi Barotha Hydro power project is playing important role in WAPDA power system presently its share in WAPDA power system is 22 %

 Experience the Atlas O&M under the MAN DEISEL GERMANY
 It is 225 MW combined cycle project consisting of 11 RFO fired diesel engines and 1 unit of steam turbine.
 Four Stroke Diesel Engines (Type 18V48/60) manufactured by MAN Diesel SE, Germany.
 The engines are primarily developed for liquid fuels and offer a compact, relatively light and efficient power generation unit. Net output of the plant is 213.85MW.
