Started as Cloud Engineer (Storage and Virtualization) at Ovex Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (subsidiary of Enpointe and dincloud Inc. (Managed Cloud Services provider) in CA, LA USA www.dincloud.com and www.enpointe.com ) from August 05, 2013.
Currently Sole responsible for Configurations/troubleshooting, administration of 58 Physical hosts of Super micro with 29 TB of RAM and 2688 CPU cores running VMware ESXi 4.1, 5.1,5.5 and Microsoft Hyper-V 2.0 2008R2, 3.0 2012 Hypervisors. Also responsible for the health checks and troubleshooting, rack and stack of 180 supermicro servers in the data center.
Responsible for managing the 55 HP DL-380 Gen9 servers with fully configured HP insight control and manager to monitor their health, environment, performance and capacity planning, inventory and firmware/drivers updates.
Responsible for performing system health checks, performance analysis, tuning and management of the VMware/Hyper-V infrastructure along with future capacity planning and management for two physical datacenters widespread in Los Angeles and Chicago.
Responsible for NetApp NAS Storage FAS series (FAS 6210 and 3170) managing, provisioning and administration of 4 Petabytes physical NFS, CIFS and iSCSI storage shares, FlexVols, FlexClones, aggregates, LUNS, vFilers and Qtrees in virtualized infrastructure. Data ONTAP 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2 onCommand Unified system manager, data fabric manager, operations manager and, SnapMirror, SnapVault and SnapRestore for HA, protection and block level replication, backup and recovery of mission critical data on dincloud infrastructure. Taking up issues with NetApp as primary engineering contact and follow up to their resolution.
Configuration of Xsigo Directors fabric management for pushing virtual NICs and virtual HBA’s from 1GbE to 10GbE throughput.
Deployed Nutanix Hyper-converged solution running Acropolis OS 5.1 across the two physical datacenters and administering clusters through PRISM central mgmt.
Joined DWP Group- Tech Division www.dwp.com.pk (June 01, 2012 to July 30, 2013)as an Associate Technical Consultant, working on VMware VSphere 5 virtualized infrastructure and EMC SAN (Clarion,VNX), also having the exposure to work on Dell Servers rack mount and blade servers as well as Dell Compellent Storage.
• Telenor, PK- Migrated 156 blade server nodes (92 Dell Blade Nodes and 64 IBM HS-21 blade server nodes) from VMware vSphere 4.0 cluster to vSphere 5.1 on primary and DR site.
• Ufone PTML, PK- Worked with the storage team in enhancing the EMC Centerra archiving storage.
Joined Inbox Business Technologies www.inboxbiz.com (September 26, 2011 to April 30,2012) in the capacity of Associate Infrastructure Consultant and assigned the following responsibilities:
• Virtual desktop infrastructure Envisioning and designing with Microsoft and IBM Pakistan team for a leading bank MCB with Microsoft and Citrix Solutions to implement smart business desktop cloud technology. Recently worked in a team to implement a functional Microsoft RDS environment for 1000 users (which will scale up to 7000 users finally) and Citrix Xen App /Xen Desktop for banking environment using Xen Server as hypervisor on end user device using Wyse Thin clients C-10-LE dumb terminals.
Joined Machsol, Inc. www.machsol.com as an Enterprise Engineer w.e.f May 03,2010 to September 10, 2011 worked on Different virtualization solutions for SME’s, corporate and Enterprises including application, Desktop and resource virtualization with hands on experience on Microsoft desktop optimization pack and Citrix Xen Desktop 4.0 and Xen App 5.0.
Major Projects completed at Machsol, Inc.
• Ufone PTML Pakistan- Microsoft system center Operations Manager 2007 R2 internal implementation and MS Exchange audit and health provisioning through SCOM.
• MS SQL Server 2008 Failover clustering with clustered shared volumes on SAN
• Unirix datacenter Amsterdam, NL- Virtualized datacenter remote setup through MS Hyper -V and SCVMM 2008 R2 with failover clustering configuration and management. Test environments for Client POC of System center suite SCVMM, SCOM, SCCM and DPM 2010.
• Microsoft, PK - Implementation of Dynamic datacenter toolkit RC-2010 and system center integration with it along with Hyper-v and demonstration to Microsoft Pakistan.
• PTCL, PK- POC implementation for PTCL of Xen Desktop 4.0 with Xen App on WS2K8 R2 Hyper -v for 100 desktops pool with distributed roles of Xen Desktop 4.0 components using single golden disk image sharing approach using HP- thin clients and mobile devices. POC was delivered on EVO 3G network with custom in-house applications of PTCL.
Work experience at OSFAMZ (www.osfamz.com) as Network Virtualization Engineer from June 25, 2009- April 15, 2010. Job responsibilities included Network troubleshooting and management, Datacenter hardware and technical procurement and support to government and private sector, Research in future dynamic IT infrastructure such as Virtualized datacenters, Cloud computing and Information security.
