I have extensive expertise in public health with over 10 years of experience in managing maternal and child health and nutrition programs. My skills include overseeing nutrition interventions during emergencies, providing psychosocial support, promoting infant and young child feeding practices, and addressing wasting and stunting. Additionally, I am knowledgeable in health and hygiene practices to prevent the spread of communicable diseases mainly during emergencies.
Lead the implementation (conceptualization, designing, procurement, execution) of the thematic and competency-based training for staff and stakeholders on key nutrition thematic areas of the in coordination with project partners and ensure that all interventions are in line with the global and national best practices and guidelines. Give technical support in making tools and capacity building plans to strengthen nutrition information management system at community, facility and district level to ensure nutrition related information is collected, shared, analyzed and used for decision making. Technically lead the roll out of the CMAM /simplified guidelines for screening and treatment of SAM through capacity building of LHWs, CMWs & CBO, volunteers, activation of Community Health Committees and Peer Support Groups. Provide mentoring support in day-to-day implementation of trainings to IRC and partners teams (where needed) Close coordination with the Supervisor and Grants department to ensure effective component budget management, grant utilization and compliance with donor requirements. Develop and utilize regularly updated training management tools, including workplans, implementation plans, procurement plans, and accurate financial forecasts. Develop TORs, process hiring consultants for different training, review nutrition training IEC and training materials and monitor nutrition related training events. Provide technical support to the project leads and Supply Chain department for procurement of nutrition supplies for the project. Review and contribute to the policy and advocacy materials and provide technical backstopping to the partner on advocacy initiatives.
The “Right Start Program” is a multi-faceted initiative to reach over 100 million women and girls with improved nutrition. One billion women are malnourished and the cost of that lost potential is a tax that is undermining global progress. NI in partnership with Shifa foundation has initiated Nutrition interventions in 7 districts of Pakistan.
WFP with its strategic objective 1 “Save lives and protect livelihoods in emergencies”, Support food security and nutrition, Distribute Emergency Food, rebuild livelihoods in fragile settings, for sustainable outcome WFP facilitating Government of Pakistan providing technical support in policy, advocacy and partnership to bring significant change in reduction of malnutrition among vulnerable group of pregnant and lactating women and under five children.
In partnership with UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO), WFP provides treatment for moderate acute malnutrition among children aged between 6 months and 5 years, and pregnant and nursing women. Activities include the distribution of fortified foods and education on infant and young child feeding as well as the promotion of home fortification of foods through the distribution of micro-nutrient powders.
In Pakistan after 2010 floods the IRC role was to contribute to the relief and recovery of flood affected population in a manner they uphold their dignity by targeting the most vulnerable households, with strong focus on ensuring gender parity, the project provided employment opportunities and income generating activities to affected communities.
