My objective is to use skills involving market research, forecasting, Management and stakeholder management for the growth of the organisation I am part of.

My love of nature and adventure sports inspired me to found this venture that has hitherto managed to organize more than 10 trips involving more than 50 people each to over 6 destinations in Pakistan. From the very outset, I handled the logistics, promotions and finances of this organization. As of now, I have team of more than 10 people answerable to me. Each trip is priced in excess of PKR 2000 each per individual, and the venture has proved decently profitable. This initiative has allowed me to lead teams to successfully fulfil a variety of challenging and complex tasks, and despite the myriad nature of the challenges that are thrown up by the nature of the enterprise, I have managed to navigate the difficult terrain of entrepreneurship successfully. My negotiations with various vendors as well agencies responsible for the provision of security have allowed me to be a better negotiator, a superior problem solver and a firm, yet inclusive, leader.
As the project manager at an event management company, I was responsible for a multitude of different tasks, depending on the situation and project at hand. My work with AKN events saw me supervise a number of different departments, responsible for putting up well-organized and successful parties, social gatherings and musical concerts. Outside of LUMS, this venture was critical in allowing me to manage professionals that were not fellow students at my university. My work had to stay cognizant of the rules and legal regulations of the government, as well as changing market conditions and factors. My work with AKN events, saw the quality of the product improve, and consequently, the venture has become more profitable and reputable within the market. Many a time, the founders of the venture appreciated my work and declared my work to be the backbone of the company’s performance.
As the Vice President, I was expected to oversee the smooth operation of different departments within the society, including but not limited to, logistics, finance, security, social events, promotions and marketing. I was expected to stand in for the president, ensure a smooth accountability process for my subordinates, interact with the administration, ensure the compliance of LUMS regulations and innovate to make the society more marketable among the LUMS student body, as well as regular dealings with external sponsors. The highlight of my tenure involved coaxing the administration, and collecting the requisite finance for the commissioning of a pioneering student-run Space observatory within LUMS. I was the de facto project manager for this initiative, and my work was greatly appreciated by my society’s patron as well as my subordinates within the society. My general supervision of the Psi-Fi (the society’s flagship event) saw the most successful event in the history of society with over a 1000 delegates and the earning of 8 Million PKR in revenue. Finally, but perhaps most importantly, I played the central role in the appointment process of the next Executive Council for the society, a group of talented and motivated individuals destined to make the society scale even greater heights in terms of success and excellence. Overall, this was a fruitful experience that made me grow as an individual, a leader of people and enhanced my ability to manage crises, solve pressing problems, liaison with diverse groups and persuade people to capitulate to demands that would enhance the success and prestige of my society at large. I entered into meaningful relationships with people, and learned how to efficaciously handle responsibility, adhere to deadlines and generally, become a better worker.
The member of the convening committee for the Olympiad is required to oversee the smooth operation of the different departments of the Olympiad, consult with the Convener and lend any assistance to the event if and when necessary. My main achievement as a member of the convening committee was the introduction of an accountability sub-committee for the Convener, that required him to stay accountable to the general interest and ethos of the Olympiad, present weekly reports with regards to the progress of the event and answer tough questions on his/her performance if required. This initiative was difficult to push through, but has now become the standard for all Olympiads that have been, or will be conducted from that point onwards
