CNC Mill Operator / Programmer

The CNC Operator / Programmer is responsible for overseeing and executing the daily operations of computer-controlled machinery in a manufacturing setting. This includes programming machines, coordinating CNC operators, and ensuring production goals and quality standards are consistently met. The role also involves training staff, troubleshooting issues, and driving process improvements in collaboration with the broader manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines effectively.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of CNC Milling, Lathe, Plasma Cutter, and Wire Cut machines.
Program CNC machines and coordinate the work of CNC operators to meet production targets and maintain high-quality standards.
Schedule and allocate work assignments to ensure optimal machine utilization.
Train new CNC operators in machine operation, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
Monitor machine performance and promptly troubleshoot any technical issues.
Maintain accurate logs of machine performance, production data, and downtime.
Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity and minimize waste.
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to explore cost-saving and process enhancement opportunities.
Ensure a safe working environment by strictly enforcing safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:

Proven ability to program CNC machines—qualification through a relevant Diploma or equivalent is essential; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a CNC manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a programming role.
Strong understanding of CNC programming and machining processes.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a noisy and fast-paced production environment.
