You will be the central point of contact between customers and drivers. Your primary role is to ensure the timely and efficient dispatching of taxis, manage incoming bookings, and provide excellent customer service. You'll work with computerised dispatch systems, GPS tracking, and sometimes radio communication to monitor and assign jobs to available drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and process bookings via phone, app, or online platform.
Assign trips to available drivers based on proximity and availability.
Monitor vehicle locations using GPS to manage fleets effectively.
Communicate clearly with drivers via radio, phone, or in-app messaging.
Resolve issues such as delays, customer complaints, or route adjustments.
Maintain accurate records of bookings, cancellations, and incidents.
Liaise with customers to provide ETAs, confirm bookings, and follow up.
Coordinate with fleet managers or owners for scheduling and driver availability.
Skills & Qualifications:
Good geographical knowledge of the local area.
Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Experience with dispatch software (e.g., Autocab, iCabbi) is a plus.
Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, data entry).
Previous experience in a similar dispatch, call centre, or customer service role is beneficial.
Typical Work Hours:
Shift-based, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
