The Oven Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the oven equipment used in the food production process at the Food Company. This position ensures that products are baked or cooked to perfection, adhering to company standards, quality control procedures, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oven Operation:

  • Operate industrial ovens and other baking equipment for cooking or baking various food products.
  • Set and monitor temperature, time, and other oven settings as per production requirements.
  • Ensure that the products are baked or cooked according to specifications, adjusting settings as needed.

2. Product Quality Control:

  • Check the quality of food products, ensuring they meet the required standards for texture, color, and taste.
  • Perform regular quality control checks during production to maintain consistency and product standards.

3. Safety and Maintenance:

  • Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures when handling ovens and other equipment.
  • Regularly clean and maintain the ovens and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.

4. Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients or materials needed for baking and notify the supervisor when restocking is required.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of ingredients for baking.

5. Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure that all activities comply with health, safety, and hygiene standards, as well as any food safety regulations.
  • Record production data, including temperatures, baking times, and product output, for quality assurance and reporting purposes.

6. Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other kitchen staff and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to address any issues that may arise during the baking process.

7. Cleanliness and Organization:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all surfaces and equipment are sanitized regularly.
  • Dispose of waste and food scraps properly.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an oven operator or in a food production environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge of baking or cooking processes and equipment.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor quality control.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards.
