QA Manager

The Senior QA Manager will play a critical role in leading long-term initiatives that address significant business challenges by translating broad product visions into actionable technical roadmaps. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a quality assurance team of 8-12 members to maintain high standards in software design and deployment.
- Support scalable and maintainable infrastructure platforms, as well as user and content design, collaborating with Engineering, Infrastructure, Data & AI, and Analytics teams.
- Define and implement the team’s quality strategy, co-owning the roadmap to deliver world-class products and exceptional user experiences.
- Foster a quality-driven mindset throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring consistent excellence.
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and engineering leads across Careem’s Food and Groceries domains to align quality objectives.
- Champion Careem’s technology culture by attracting top talent, publishing technical content, and representing the company at industry conferences.

Required Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Manager, including managing customer-facing projects.
- Proven expertise in testing strategies and best practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with advanced test automation frameworks and methodologies for both mobile and backend systems.
- Skilled in designing and maintaining internet-facing, production-grade applications in distributed, virtualized, or containerized environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of backend acceptance testing tools such as Tavern and Postman, CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins and Bitrise, cloud deployments, containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex, loosely defined business problems and translate them into executable plans.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with experience overseeing multiple engineering efforts.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience or interest in AI-driven testing tools such as AI test generation and defect prediction.
- Familiarity with shift-left testing principles that promote early QA involvement.
- Practical knowledge of automation tools including Appium, Cucumber, Espresso, JMeter, Rest-assured, Selenium, Tavern, and XCUI.
- Experience with continuous integration tools like Cruise Control, Hudson, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Proficiency with distributed version control systems such as GIT and Mercurial.
- Experience testing in cloud environments and using test management and DevOps tools.
