Nutrition International (NI), a global non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating vitamin and mineral deficiencies, is seeking qualified agencies to provide operational support for multiple micronutrient supplement (MMS)-specific activities in Islamabad, Pakistan. This consultancy focuses on ensuring the continuity and sustainability of maternal nutrition efforts during the contract period. Since 2000, Nutrition International has partnered with national and provincial governments in Pakistan to improve nutrition outcomes for women and children by enhancing access to essential micronutrients through existing health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for the implementation of MMS-specific activities within the designated area.
- Ensure the continuity and sustainability of maternal nutrition programs as they transition from the research phase of the Advancing Maternal Health through MMS Implementation Research Project (AMMI) to a district-wide, government-led model under IGNIT3.
- Support local capacity building efforts, maintain supply chain operations, and integrate MMS data into the District Health Information System (DHIS2).
- Facilitate coordination with provincial stakeholders and government bodies to promote ownership and long-term sustainability of MMS interventions.
- Collaborate closely with Nutrition International and the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation & Coordination (MoNHSR&C) to align activities with national maternal health strategies and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with the guidelines and requirements outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP) to produce competitive and acceptable submissions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in the development sector, particularly in maternal and child nutrition programs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and implement health-related operational projects in Pakistan, preferably in partnership with government health departments.
- Strong understanding of micronutrient supplementation programs, especially those related to maternal nutrition and antenatal care services.
- Familiarity with supply chain management, data integration systems such as DHIS2, and sustainability frameworks within public health initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively among multiple stakeholders including government agencies, non-profits, and community partners.
- Capacity to prepare comprehensive proposals in line with RFP guidelines and respond professionally to requests for information or clarification.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
